Dhyanam — Invocation
ओं नमो भगवते वासुदेवाय
क्षीरोदार्णव शायिने नमः ।
ब्रह्मण्य देवकीपुत्र नारायण नमोऽस्तु ते ॥
Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya
kṣīrodārṇava śāyine namaḥ |
brahmaṇya devakīputra nārāyaṇa namo'stu te ||
Om, salutations to Lord Vāsudeva who rests on the ocean of milk. Salutations to the supreme Lord, son of Devaki, Nārāyaṇa — I bow to You.
Shloka 1 — Viśvaṃ Vishnuḥ
विश्वं विष्णुर्वषट्कारो भूतभव्यभवत्प्रभुः ।
भूतकृद्भूतभृद्भावो भूतात्मा भूतभावनः ॥
Viśvaṃ viṣṇurvaṣaṭkāro bhūtabhavyabhavatprabhuḥ |
bhūtakṛdbhūtabhṛdbhāvo bhūtātmā bhūtabhāvanaḥ ||
He who is the universe, all-pervading, the offering to the sacred fire. He is the Lord of past, present and future. He creates beings, sustains them, and is their very essence and cause.
Shloka 2 — Pūtātmā Paramātmā
पूतात्मा परमात्मा च मुक्तानां परमा गतिः ।
अव्ययः पुरुषः साक्षी क्षेत्रज्ञोऽक्षर एव च ॥
Pūtātmā paramātmā ca muktānāṃ paramā gatiḥ |
avyayaḥ puruṣaḥ sākṣī kṣetrajño'kṣara eva ca ||
He is the pure self and the supreme self. He is the ultimate goal of the liberated. He is imperishable, the cosmic person, the witness, the knower of the field, and the indestructible.
Shloka 3 — Keśavaḥ Puruṣottamaḥ
केशवः पुरुषोत्तमः सर्वः शर्वः शिवः स्थाणुः ।
भूतादिर्निधिरव्ययः सम्भवो भावनो भर्ता ॥
Keśavaḥ puruṣottamaḥ sarvaḥ śarvaḥ śivaḥ sthāṇuḥ |
bhūtādirnidhiravyayaḥ sambhavo bhāvano bhartā ||
He with beautiful hair, the supreme person. He is all, the destroyer, the auspicious, the unmoving. He is the origin of beings, the imperishable treasure, the source of all, the creator, and the sustainer.
Shloka 4 — Narasiṃhavapuḥ Śrīmān
नारसिंहवपुः श्रीमान् केशवः पुरुषोत्तमः ।
सर्वः शर्वः शिवः स्थाणुर्भूतादिर्निधिरव्ययः ॥
Nārasiṃhavapuḥ śrīmān keśavaḥ puruṣottamaḥ |
sarvaḥ śarvaḥ śivaḥ sthāṇurbhūtādirnidhiravyayaḥ ||
He who took the form of Narasimha (half-man, half-lion), the glorious one. Lord Keśava, the supreme person, the all-pervading, the auspicious, the eternal — the origin and imperishable treasure of all beings.
Shloka 5 — Avyayaḥ Puruṣaḥ
अव्ययः पुरुषः साक्षी क्षेत्रज्ञोऽक्षर एव च ।
योगो योगविदां नेता प्रधानपुरुषेश्वरः ॥
Avyayaḥ puruṣaḥ sākṣī kṣetrajño'kṣara eva ca |
yogo yogavidāṃ netā pradhānapuruṣeśvaraḥ ||
He is imperishable, the supreme person, the witness, the knower of the field of consciousness, and the indestructible. He is yoga, the leader of those who know yoga, and the lord of primordial nature and the soul.
